Pythonic is a Canadian death-groove metal band hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Drawing inspiration from groove and death metal giants like Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, Morbid Angel, and Devildriver, the band blends crushing riffs with unrelenting energy. Striving for the tightest live sound possible while delivering an electrifying stage presence, Pythonic is truly a sonic force to be reckoned with. Over the years, the band has seen many lineup changes, but two core members have remained constant. Lead guitarist Ryan Hunter, the resident guitar prodigy, shreds some of the grooviest riffs and most blistering solos. Rhythm guitarist Vincent Kohut brings a machine-like precision, combining thick low-end riffing with razor-sharp tremolo picking.
The 2025 and beyond lineup is the tightest and most prolific in Pythonic’s history:
Jayden Warriner – skin-slapping powerhouse on drums
Morgan Warriner – a vocalist with a beastly range that will leave your head spinning
Max Hiske – the latest addition, locking down the low end and slappin’ da bass with fury
Together, this lineup delivers the full-throttle sonic assault that defines Pythonic.
The Beginning 2015-2021
Small Town Dreams
Pythonic began its journey with Vincent Kohut, a small-town farm kid who dreamed of playing his own songs on stage. That dream started to take shape in December 2015 with the band’s first practice. Although Vincent is the only original member remaining from that session, long-time lead guitar player Ryan Hunter joined by spring 2016.
Alongside Ryan’s arrival was bass player Alyxx Frayne, who remained with the band until 2020. Between 2016 and 2018, we cycled through several drummers before eventually finding Tristan Mathiason, who stayed with the band until 2021.
Fronting the lineup during these years was Dustin Reiner. The only recording released with this lineup is “Negative Thoughts.”

Transitional Years 2021-2024
Tristan’s departure from the band came during a period when Vincent was living on his parents’ farm. While reconnecting with his roots, he also reconnected with an old high school friend, Jordan Gall of The Brothers G, and enlisted him as Pythonic’s new drummer. Jordan became a vital part of the band during the creation of EP 01. Not only did he play drums on the record, but we also used his studio, Powder Room Recordings, to track drums and rhythm guitar.
By the end of 2021, both Jordan and his brother, Jason Gall, had joined the band as the rhythm section—Jason taking over bass duties from Dustin. By mid-summer 2022, both Jordan and Jason left the band to focus on their true passion, The Brothers G.
Pythonic later brought in drummer Jayden Warriner and moved Dustin back to bass. This lineup remained until 2023, when Morgan Warriner stepped in to take over on bass. By the time Morgan joined, the EP had finally been mixed, mastered, and was awaiting release. EP 01 was released on September 27th, 2024.
In mid-January 2025, we parted ways with Dustin.

Our best line up yet
Morgan Warriner transitioned from bass to lead vocals, writing and learning a full setlist of songs ahead of Pythonic’s first show of 2025—Serenade Metal Fest in Edmonton, held in February.
During the early months of the year, Alex Conley filled in on bass. After Alex left to pursue school, he was replaced by bass phenom Max Hiske. By the end of June, Max played his first show with Pythonic, which also marked Morgan’s third performance as lead vocalist.
Just one week later, we had the honor of opening for local legends Lava Goat and international heavy-hitters 200 Stab Wounds.
Pythonic’s current lineup is a force to be reckoned with.
